ABOUT

AKWAEKE is an artist born in liminal spaces. Born and raised in Nigeria, they moved to Brooklyn, New York in the 2010's and began writing rap lyrics shortly after. After an award winning stint in filmmaking and a critically acclaimed career in literature, AKWAEKE returned to their music in 2023 with their debut single Banye. They went on to perform at Afropunk Brooklyn in their first live performance ever.

Their debut EP Stop Dying, You Were Very Expensive! was released on March 8, 2024 and executive produced by the Grammy winning Haitian artist and producer Michaël Brun.
